This Year in Havana – Friends of the Library program

“This Year in Havana,” a program by Jim Winship, will be given on Wednesday, March 31, at the Irvin L. Young Memorial Library, 431 W. Center St. in Whitewater.  Winship, a Professor of Social Work at UW-Whitewater, recently visited Cuba and will describe in words and photographs his experience of a country that is both a closed socialist society and an exotic tourist destination. The program begins at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Census 2010 Questionnaire Assistance Center and Be Counted site

The library will be providing space for Census 2010 workers to assist people in filling out their census questionnaire on the following dates and times:

March 15 – March 18 :  4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

March 20:  10:00 am – 1:00 pm

March 22 – March 25:  4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

March 27:  10:00 am – 1:00 pm

March 29 – April 1:  4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

April 3:  10:00 am – 1:00 pm

April 5 – April 8:  4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

April 10:  10:00 am – 1:00 pm

April 12 – April 15:  4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

There will also be a Be Counted box available for anyone to fill out a questionnaire and put it in a locked box to be picked up later by a Census 2010 worker.
